Rivermill, Chattanooga TN
Longtime MCC customer, Chattanooga-based Kenco Group, Inc. acquired a 1950's era warehousing and mill operation formerly owned and operated by Quaker Oats Co. Kenco bought the facility with plans to utilize the existing warehouse space and possibly some day demolish the mill and add additional warehouse space. During the spring of 2004 Kenco's management decided to dream big and with the help of Artech Design Group Architects, the concept of Rivermill was born. Once again, Kenco had a demanding job to do with a tax incentivized deadline of December 31st, 2004 and Morgan was invited to join the effort. On December 22nd just 170 days from start of selective demolition a certificate of occupancy was granted and Kenco opened its new headquarters. Rivermill is a shining example of adaptive reuse of a outdated and inoperable mill facility converted to class A office space for Kenco Group.
